What started as a weekend project to remake Pokémon Trading Card Game 1 and 2 —
then grow into a fan-made third chapter — went much further than expected. Grandmasters is a
faithful GBC-style recreation in Godot with the full card pool, premade decks, a working battle
engine, deck building, duels, tournaments, and online PvP.
The core collectible and competitive loop is in place: 434 cards across the classic sets,
94 opponent decklists loaded, quick battles against AI, and online lobbies where players can
create matches, chat, pick decks, ready up, and challenge each other — with spectating and
reconnection support.
What has not been built yet is the campaign layer — the story modes for TCG 1, TCG 2, and the
original Grandmasters chapter are still ahead. Distinct AI personalities were explored, but
the live opponent logic is still a single competent battle AI for now.
